The wildlife on post strikes again. Our first Halloween here, the squirrels and/or bunnies ate our pumpkins. I have a deep suspicion it was the squirrels. Now I got a strawberry pot. It had four plants. There was evidence of digging in the main area of the pot, and now there’s only one plant in a side slot. The squirrels strike again. I swear, between the kids and the squirrels, we can’t have anything.

hehe we had that problem in KC. the squirrels ate thru my thick heavy trashcan. and the jack-o-lanterns at Halloween? forget it. we had to wait until Oct 31 to put them out or they’d be eaten. we swore those squirrels were on drugs. they were freakin crazy!!!! wonder what it’s going to be here? thinking it might be the bunnies. we have a family of bunnies living under the deck. my dog (a Dachshund) is going to freak when she gets here. lol

I think I saw something at Lowes that you can get to deter the animals and it’s non toxic. Plus lowes gives a military discount too! So if they don’t have something that will deter the little buggers maybe you can get a pretty new plant for your pot (that is if you want to risk it!) I do understand what you mean with regards to the kids or animals though. That is the truth!
I feel ya! The raccoons love to dig up my container garden – ha!
