As promised last week, this week, I’m posting the recipe for cheeseburger flatbreads. As always, KP Duty is about getting in the kitchen and cooking for yourself. It doesn’t have to be fancy. I don’t always promise healthy either. Friday is what we call our “junk food” day in our house. Some of the recipes will be from those cheat days. Some will be staple recipes I cook often. Cooking doesn’t have to be from a box to be easy.
Ingredients:
flour tortillas (any size you have on hand is fine. I used the 10″ size)
lettuce
tomato
cheddar cheese (or your favorite pre-shredded blend from the store)
ground beef
vegetable oil (or other mild oil for frying)
Directions:
1. Brown ground beef. Drain.
2. Shred lettuce.
3. Chop tomatoes.
4. Grate cheese.
5. Heat oil over medium high heat. Fry tortillas until slightly browned and crispy on both sides.
6. Drain tortilla on paper towels.
7. Sprinkle with cheese and meat.
8. Microwave for 10-15 seconds to melt cheese.
9. Top with lettuce and tomato.
10. Cut like a pizza and eat.
*Sometimes I add onion to the meat as I brown it, or top the flatbreads with green onion at the end. You can top with other ingredients as desired.

oh that sounds good and easy! Something Hannah could help me make too and she loves doing that. yum!
Where I live, we call those TOSTADA’S. lol
yum. I’m hungry now.
Another great recipe! Those look delicious and I think I am going to give them a try next week with some fat free cheese and ground turkey.

Yum!! Can’t wait to try this ~ it looks delicious, and easy! I will change the meat to ground turkey since that is what we eat! Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Oh that looks good! Now I’m kicking myself for not picking up tortillas when out at the discount grocery store today! Hmmm, what do you think of adding chili powder (just a little) to the hamburger? I’m kinda a “spice crazy” cook, so always wondering what spices I could add.
Chili powder would work. You could season the meat any way you’d like to get the flavor you wanted. I generally use salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder as my go to universal blend and starting point.
Looks like my favorite recipe soft tacos. You just helped me decide what to make for lunch tomorrow. I have not had this dish in ages.
