Armed Forces Day Events 2011

This year for Armed Forces Day, we skipped the Army Heritage Center since we did that last year, and went to City Island in Harrisburg to see what the PA Guard had set up. They did not disappoint. They Heritage Center is a cool experience with the reenactors doing a living history type of event, but I think the boys really enjoyed all of the vehicles at City Island hands down. The helicopters were the favorites, but there were too many people around them to get good pics.

About Amanda

Amanda Griffiths sometimes feels as though she's running a zoo instead of a home. With two active autistic boys, they often make the noise of six kids. Pepper in some Army life and cyber schooling for spice, and it's organized chaos at best. When visiting, please don't feed the animals. They have food allergies.

  1. the pics bring back memories from my childhood – I loved going to things like this with my dad

  2. Looks like it was tons of fun! We never have anything like that around here. I wish we did, the boys would have loved it!
