Special Needs Ryan Gosling – Food Allergies
2012

Military Life, Autism, Parenting

Amanda Griffiths sometimes feels as though she's running a zoo instead of a home. With two active autistic boys, they often make the noise of six kids. Pepper in some Army life and cyber schooling for spice, and it's organized chaos at best. When visiting, please don't feed the animals. They have food allergies.

That Ryan, he is so supportive of us moms.
I hear ya! My oldest (with Celiacs and multiple food allergies) used to have serious issues in school. It has gotten easier as hes gotten older.
my youngest would just prefer to eat dirt . (No allergies, just autism)

Is it enough to stop the schools from serving peanut-butter? What about other kids whose moms pack a PB&J sandwich for lunch? I know next to nothing about food allergies, so am asking out of sincere curiosity :-J
Being anaphylactic to peanuts, soy, wheat, gluten, tree nuts, fish, shell fish, and more, I can say that YES it is sometimes necessary to take peanut butter out of the school environment. Depending on the situation, there are alternatives such as soybutter, peabutter, and sunbutter. All are peanut free and more.

Ideally the school would be nut free because the nut butters are so sticky and if my child came along adn touched a drinking fountain, door know, art supplies, playground equipment, etc. he could have a serious reaction.
That Ryan. What a Sweetie, he gets us, he really does.

Funny!!
As much as I love PB&J – I completely agree. My son doesn’t have food allergies but he has a lot of sensory issues and being in a crowded cafeteria is his ‘field of landmines.’
ha! Oh, sorry, just got distracted picturing Ryan in fatigues…

Totally LOVE this! Food allergies are important and it is daunting since they can be everywhere!

Love this! My kids don’t have allergies (luckily) but I agree with you, totally!
That really would be so scary!
I feel bad that I send my kindergartener to school with a pb sandwich every single day… but it’s also the only thing he’ll eat there.

I wouldn’t feel bad about it if there’s not a severely allergic child in his school.
So true.
And man, that Ryan Gosling sure is smart, isn’t he?
Wow, Im so lame. I have no idea who this actor is but if you can get some big guns to help fight this PB&J thing, that would be awesome..
