Yes, I’ve been a Pinterest junkie lately. I’ve seen lots of good ideas of crafts for the boys, and they provide a good break in their school day. This particular craft is two fold. Not only is it a lot of fun, but – Star Wars! Now, to just keep the boys from beating each other senseless with their new light sabers. At least these ones hurt less than the plastic ones.
This is really very easy. Go forth and RUN! To your nearest store before the pool noodles are gone for the season. Grab as many as you think you’ll need, but keep in mind you’ll be cutting them in half. Unless your children feel that they MUST duel with their light sabers double fisted like my boys, then you’ll need one per child. Grab some duct tape. The regular grey will work just fine, or you can get all fancy with the new styles. I got black, gold, and chrome. I even contemplated the Mario duct tape, because who doesn’t love when two video game worlds collide? But I refrained.
Once home, I cut the noodles in half (approximately. My spacial awareness without measuring is a little off we’ll say). Then We decorated the handles. My 5 year old had me make his for him as he directed me. He put the buttons on at the end though. He was very adamant about doing that part himself.
This is what we made:

Awesome. . . but I have girls. . . who don’t watch Star Wars. Still. . . maybe my wife and I could get a little . . . sword fight goin. . . bow chicka bow wow.
