It’s definitely fall. Cooler temperatures have been here to stay. I love this time of year for many reasons. I can pull out my boots for one. Another is I love my sweaters. I can put on a long sweater, some tights or leggings, boots, and voila! I look put together, but I feel really comfy.
There’s also the Fall foods. Sure, I love the fresh produce Summer brings, but in Fall, there’s apple and pumpkin pies readily available. No one scoffs when I make soup or chili. Now I’m getting looks when I’d like to make a salad for dinner. The boys ask me to bake more, which is a double edged sword. I’m happy to do it, but some days it really hurts my back by the time I bake the cupcakes, muffins, cinnamon rolls, or whatever else they’ve asked me to make, and clean up. In fact, now my kitchen has totally exploded from their requests this weekend. Just from making my queso dip and bacon and onion flatbread. We even had orange and black chips for Halloween. I love the Xochitl seasonal chips. The kids think they’re so fun.
Don’t forget the holidays. I do love the holidays, all of them from Halloween to Christmas. I’ve even started planning Christmas decorations I’d like to make this year now that we have the room. Please don’t hate me, but I’ve even started Christmas shopping. I started scanning one day deals on certain sites we like back in August and September. Ever since the year Aaron was born, and I was done shopping by early November, I try to be done Christmas shopping early now. It makes the rest of November and December much less stressful over all. I can also concentrate more on the food and the baking this way.
Is there anything you like about Fall?
