Stuff of Life

We’re in survival mode here. Fall is definitely in full swing. With temperatures in the 60′s during the day and 30′s at night, my fibromyalgia is in full gear overdrive. I did finally get a TENS unit for at home. Oh what a blessing! My muscles are so tense that I have to set the timer because it makes me fall asleep. At least now I know part of the reason I’ve not been sleeping well for years.

We’ve still not quite found a school groove, but we’ll get there. I’m not sweating it. I’ve been buried under paperwork and appointments lately. I’m just so happy the boys are thriving. I really can’t ask for much more as a parent.

I’ve also discovered that I would not be a good Kindergarten teacher. It’s OK for one year, but to do it year after year after year really takes a special person. With the sixth grade level work, I’m constantly amazed at the things the kids are learning now. It’s stuff I was doing in high school. In fact my son’s history class is the exact material I did as a sophomore. He’s also doing algebra and geometry. I didn’t see algebra until 7th grade. Geometry as a class also wasn’t until sophomore year.

We’re also getting ready for Halloween. I’ve been crafty again, but my project still needs something. I’ll post pictures once I get it finished.

I also did a review of a weighted blanket over at SPD Blogger Network. Go check it out. There’s a giveaway! Zach still sleeps with the weighted blanket every night.

That’s all for now. You know, lots of things percolating, but nothing to write about yet. What’s going on in your life?

About Amanda

Amanda Griffiths sometimes feels as though she's running a zoo instead of a home. With two active autistic boys, they often make the noise of six kids. Pepper in some Army life and cyber schooling for spice, and it's organized chaos at best. When visiting, please don't feed the animals. They have food allergies.

  1. so happy about the TENS!

Yesterday I was trying to explain FM and chronic pain to someone, and described the tension part of it as “one giant full-body life-long kegel exercise”

    So, yeah
