30 Isn’t Old, But It’s Weird.

[ 4 ] December 11, 2009 | Amanda

I’ve been contemplating turning 30 for awhile now. It’s been slowly creeping up on me. My husband has been making good natured jokes about it (but he’s closer to 40 LOL). I finally came to the conclusion that I don’t feel old (most days), but turning 30 feels weird. I think it’s because my mother had me at such a young age that I remember when she turned 30. She was in the throes of surgical menopause (for health reasons) and I was in the throes of puberty. Oh how fun our house was. The climate in my house is totally different. It’s almost normal. That to me is also weird. Now if only my hair would get the message that I’m only 30 and stop turning gray (maybe one of these days I’ll post a pic).

    turning 30 is awesome!

I remember when my parents turned 30 too. Jake was only 5 months old when I turned 30, so he will never remember it.

I had the most amazing 20s of anyone I know, but I'm liking the 30s even better. I hope you do too!

I'm not sure I like being in my 30s. I feel wrinkles. And hair dye. lol

OH, I feel SO old, I just turned 44, and have been in surgical menopause for almost 8 years now… and my boys went through puberty while I was doing that.
I've been going grey since I was 22, so I empathize with you there, and now I can't even afford to get it colored anymore – what the heck do they think charging so much to color people's hair, sheesh.
Hope you had a WONDERFUL birthday and got everything you wished for.
