I started Confessions From HouseholdSix back in 2007 as a way to help keep my sanity, remember things my two boys said or did, and to showcase my digital scrapbooking. It has since evolved into much more. My goal with Confessions From HouseholdSix is to show what Army life and parenting two autistic children is really like. If I can dispel one myth about Army life a person my have, then I feel i have accomplished what I set out to do.
I am currently a stay at home mom to two boys ages 12 and 6. My 12 year old is diagnosed with “HFA,” and my 6 year old is diagnosed “LFA.” Honestly, any given day or moment, either diagnosis would fit either child. That’s why autism is a spectrum. I blog about the boys and their antics, the family’s health issues (autism, allergies – food and seasonal, eosinophilic esophagitis, Ehlers-Danlos, asthma, fibromyalgia, and migraines), and life as an Army family.
Cyber schooling was a success our first year, and we are continuing on another year. I cannot even express in this small space how much the boys are thriving since we left the hustle and bustle of the brick and mortar system. I know it’s not for everyone, but it’s been great for us.
Where does the term “HouseholdSix” come from?
You will also note that I have done reviews and sponsored posts in the past. Due to other obligations that need my time and attention, the blog has taken more of a back seat these days.
