My boys are really into these Silly Bandz. Even my 3yo. They even managed to find a package of Army shapes. Here, Aaron is showing off his pirate shapes, and the three humvees Zach gave him.

I saw this dress in Target the other day. I didn’t know the Harvest Gold appliances from my childhood now had a clothing line. Target calls it Cruise Gold. I still say it’s Harvest Gold.

Wordless Wednesday – Summer Projects

Each summer I usually tackle at least one project around the house. So far, we have a rock garden. No more weeds. I took the hint when the landscapers weed whacked our flower bed, got rid of the rest of the weeds, laid landscape fabric, then put rocks on top. No more weeds, low maintenance, and I think it’ll look pretty cool when we decorate for Halloween in the Fall.

I stopped by TJMaxx to see if they had a wind chime I liked for the other side of the hook, and I found these patio cushions. I’ve been looking all Spring and Summer, since the Summer merchandise was put out, for new cushions that didn’t cost almost as much as a new patio set. I was seriously ready to Craigslist this set and just get a new one.

Wordless Wednesday – Tales From the Drain

This is semi-wordless only because it left me speechless. Just when I think I’ve seen it all from the boyus, I snake a tub drain thinking I’m going to pull out a big gross wad of my hair only to get this – a bouncy ball that’s been sitting in there for months while we use Drano, and various other tools to try to unclog our slow drain.

Wordless Wednesday – Family History Edition

This is a picture from the Confederate camp at the Army Heritage and Education Center. It was part of their Armed Forces Day event. This particular area sparked a good discussion about our family history. I was able to impart to our 8 year old son about how his great-great-great grand father was captured by Confederate soldiers and then sent to Andersonville. He was one of the few who actually made it home after being held captive at Andersonville.

What’s Creepier, a Clown or a Sock Monkey?

Weren’t the clowns in the jack in the boxes creepy enough? Sheesh. I had a sock monkey as a kid and I hated it. It scared me until I was school age. Now they have these traumatizing our kids one nostalgic toy at a time:

Wordless Wednesday – What Is in Goldfish Now?

I had poured some Goldfish crackers into a bowl for my son to snack on (yes snack police I know they’re like *the* worst snack out there, but once in awhile they just taste good). He kept bringing me these round ones. WTF? I texted a friend that did she know they were now putting pot leaves on the Goldfish crackers? No she didn’t. Maybe they were sand dollars? Well if I had read the bag, I’d see that they were basketballs. I still maintain someone enjoyed these while high and found a creative way to work a pot leaf into the design.
