Friday Random Ramblings

- We went to Red Robin last night to use the free kids’ meal coupons and comp card I got from my last terrible trip. They’re 0 for 4. They ask you if you’d like your burger pink, a little pink, or well done. My husband said “A little pink, you know, medium well.” It came out practically raw. When we got the bill, the waiter had put “pink” on his order. I’ve officially labeled the staff at our local Red Robin idiots. What else can you call them when it’s a restaurant supposedly known for its burgers and you can go down the road to Chili’s and get a better burger that’s cooked right every time?

- Today is Friday the 13th. We also had a full moon this week. I totally expect my kids to be pains in the ass today – more than usual. It just goes with the territory for some reason.

- I saw the first fat robins of Spring yesterday morning. They were hopping around looking for their breakfast while Zach was at the bus stop. I swear they were muttering “I thought it was Spring. Why is is 30 degrees?”

- I am NOT a morning person. My kids are morning people. My 7yo is currently in his room talking to me and I’m ignoring him because it seems like a better solution that ripping his head off and spitting down his neck. You’d think after 7 1/2 years he’d get that you just don’t talk to Mommy this early.

- My 7yo won’t eat breakfast because I won’t let him eat in the living room. He would rather have an empty belly and watch cartoons before school. We’re working on choices and natural consequences with him.

- We are definitely in the throes of the terrible 2′s with the little one. I’m really dreading the mo fo 3′s now. At least I have a little over 6 months to prepare.

- I got an e-mail from The Picture People today saying “Happy Birthday to Your Little One!” My kids’ birthdays are in June and November. The one in June will be 8 this year. Total wtf moment at 6am.
