He’s Only 2!
Yes, I’m quite aware my son is gigantic for his age. I’ve become much more aware of this in recent weeks while meeting my boys’ fall clothing needs. My son who is two requires size 5 clothing and size 12 shoes! He’s two! TWO! TWO! And I don’t need the questions from strangers asking how tall his dad is. He’s 5’9″ in case you feel you need to know. I’m 5’6″. We’re not a tall family. Just average. And yes, my boys come from the same set of parents. Not that that’s any of your business either.
Don’t get offended when you ask him questions like “Are you in school?” and he answers with “School!” Like I said, he’s two. And don’t give me dirty looks because he still has his binky. He won’t be going to Kindergarten with it. Yes, it’s a habit. Don’t you have any habits you’d like to break? Yes we’ve tried to break him of it. His personality is his mama’s, and quite frankly he’ll give it up when he’s damn good and ready. We’ve tried to take it away, but it only makes him cling to it harder. Not that that’s any of your business either.
People shouldn’t be so quick to judge based on appearances alone. It doesn’t always tell the whole story. There are worse injustices in this world than a much taller than average toddler still using his binky as a comfort item.

Very well said! My oldest is 10 and she looks much older and people always assume that she is much older than she is and asks silly questions or make stupid comments that are just none of their business! Sometimes you just gotta politely tell them to shove it…I have and it gets them to shut up if nothing else…lol!
Isn't it funny (not) how most people won't mind their own business? Your son is fortunate to be big and strong and healthy. Let the nosy onlookers stew in their own juices. I think you ought to suck a pacifier too, and tell people it's all the rage in Europe. As my (very cute) father used to say, "Whom cares?"
I just responded to your comment on my post about my son playing football. The sizes your son wears are the same as my almost 6 year old, you've got a linebacker!!!!
People are too quick to judge other people. 2 year olds have very distinct differences from 5 year olds that most people could probably tell right off that he's just a big dude but they are too focused on things that are none of their business.
I always wondered if you encountered this.
I get so upset when people have something to say. Yes, my child speaks like a 7 year old, but he's three. He isn't small for his age, or like Rainman. He just started talking very early and he never shuts up. The boy has a lot of practice.
Or when he was super skinny. Yes, I feed him.
So, I'm not sure if I ever asked you if you deal with this crap, but I assumed you did and I can only imagine you want to punch someone in their stupid face every time they open their idiot mouths.
People are annoying, aren't they? Sheesh!
