Let the Torture Begin

[ 2 ] July 3, 2008 | Amanda

DH is home, so not only do I have his camera and camera cord to upload my pictures, but I also found to cord for my own camera. No memory card switching required. Since I was without a way to upload for a couple weeks, I had over 100 pictures on my camera just waiting to be pp’d and uploaded to torture all my blog readers. That and I still have no scrapping mojo so y’all get straight pictures until I find it.

First I’ll start with some wildlife photos. We have birds everywhere. I hate birds. They’re creepy, scary, and they poop all over everything. We have this lovely bird couple who felt the need to build a nest above one o four windows. This window is right by my bedroom so I awaken every morning in the spring to the cacophony of their chirps. Damn birds. Although it’s much better than the doves that would go at it in or near the same location while DH was in Iraq. Talk about rubbing salt in a wound. If I wasn’t getting any, no one in or around my house should.

And then there’s the blasted ducks. They swim in the neighbor’s pool, eat their koi, and have made their nest in my yard. I couldn’t figure out where on Earth they could have possibly hidden a nest until I was weed eating the front flower bed. Yes, you read that right, weed eating the flower bed. That’s the only thing I can grow properly – weeds. That day I heard cheeping and mama duck chased me away. I went back later and this is what I found.

You can see where I cut the weeds with the weed eater. I was pretty damn close. I suppose if I was mama duck I’d have chased my ass away too.

So that does it for today’s wildlife portion of pictures. We have other wildlife about the house, but there isn’t enough money in the world for me to sit out there and try to get pictures of the skunks, raccoons, possums, mountain lions, or bears that sometimes wander into our yard. I’ll be sticking to bunnies, birds, bees, and the occasional chipmunk.
