Life With Zach
Zach has always been my “quirky” child. His recent Asperger’s diagnosis has given us an explanation for his quirks. One such trait of Zach’s scared the ever loving bejeezus out of me from a good sleep at 5am this morning.
Scenario: Zach had evidently come quietly into our room. I didn’t hear him until he was spinning around on the floor beside the bed. This is what scared the bejeezus out f me. A “normal” child would have come in and said, “Mom,” or “Dad?” No, Zach thinks we telepathically know what he needs. A little frustrating to say the least.
Dialogue goes something like this:
Me (I sleep closest to the door): “JEEEEZUS CHRIST!”
Zach: “What?”
Me: “You scared the shit out of me. What is it honey?”
Zach: “Can I have Motrin? My belly hurts.”
Me: “Motrin doesn’t fix that. That’s Tums, and yes, you may have a Tums.”
This is where I grumble about getting up an hour before my alarm and go downstairs with him to get a Tums.
Fast forward two hours. He puked all over the toilet. I guess I have a sick kid home today.

Autumn did that to me the other day, she came into my room while I was still sleeping, and I finally woke up (you know the feeling of someone watching you.) I said “Holy Crap Autumn, what is it,” and she says “Mommy, I’m hungry.” I then proceeded to tell her to get some breakfast (she’s 7 so she can get her breakfast), but yeah, she thinks that we telepathically know what she wants!
Stephanie´s last blog ..Books I’ve read this year so far…
Jake use to do this to me on a weekly basis! For a few years. And I guess if I didn’t wake up he thought it was ok to lug his bedding to my room and camp out on the floor next to my side of the bed. Yes, he’s been stepped on a few times. I finally told him if you must come in here and sleep then scoot under the bed. LOL btw my bed is about 3.5 ft high so there’s lots of room under there. LOL So long story short… I think it is a normal thing that kids do this.
