Oh The Nerve!
Ok, so I didn’t really have a blog post for today until my 6yo woke up. He comes downstairs and says “Good Morning.” I mumbled something in return. He knows I don’t do mornings even though I’ve been up since 5:30am, I don’t hit my stride until 10am. Awful, I know, but it’s just my biological clock I suppose. Anyway, he goes into the kitchen to get his cereal, and then comes back and says “WHERE are the M&M cookies I told you to bake a week ago?” AHEM????!!!! He totally got the “WHAT???!!!!! Don’t you be talking to me like that, Boy.” Not only was it his tone, his choice of words, but also the fact that it’s 6:30am at this point. I was happy in my own little world, getting ready to try and scrap some when I heard these words. And FYI, it wasn’t a week ago he ASKED me. I made M&M cookies last Sunday. They of course were gone by Tuesday. OH NO! He’s been out of cookies for 5 whole days! The travesty! He’s just lucky I didn’t put him through a wall. He more than knows you don’t mess with momma in the morning if you want to live to tell the tale. And then he had the nerve to get all teary eyed when I explained the error of his ways. I know, I know, he’s a poor, starving little boy that I never feed. I’m so neglectful.
Oh it’s going to be such a fun day with my sarcasm in high gear by 7am. And, since I got all the way into “town” and realized I forgot my wallet and had to come back, I didn’t have time to do any of my errands before meeting a friend for lunch yesterday. So now I need to go to Kmart (car seat on sale for $40, and we need a 2nd one) and Lowes on a Saturday. I have half a mind to make DH get up and drag everyone’s butt out in the cold and snow and get some breakfast along the way. On second thought, wonder if I can order that car seat online? Oh crap, I have to go there anyway. Kmart, the Super Walmart, and our small grocery store here in town are the only stores within an hour’s drive that have Aaron’s formula. No, we haven’t made the milk switch yet. We left him have the formula as it was his only “baby” comfort left while he was going through the ear issues. Now with the C.diff, he can’t have dairy until he’s done with his antibiotics as a precaution. At least I’m not elbow deep in poop anymore. The flagyl has made a tremendous improvement. He can even tolerate a full dose at a time now, so we’re down to 4x a day instead of once every 3 hours with a 1/2 dose. Anyone else want to run away with me for a mommy’s vacation? LOL
