One hell of a week and no mojo

[ 7 ] December 20, 2007 | Amanda

This whole week has just been so peachy keen. My 6yo got what we thought was the flu on Sunday evening and turned out to be scarlet fever. Only the doc didn’t tell me it was scarlet fever on Monday. He said they have gotten away from the term because people panic. So now they tell you it’s strep throat with a rash. I would’ve liked to have known it was scarlet fever because the fever can spike fast and I’d have thought it was run of the mill strep. My 1yo also has decided it’s fun to wake Mommy up every 2 hours at night. I think it’s still his molars trying to come through as his gums are still swollen in the back, but I’d like some sleep sometime this year LOL. He’s also started with a runny nose, so I know what’s next – ear infection. It’s happened with every tooth so far. And of course DH was gone from Monday until yesterday evening. Sometimes I really hate the Army. Seems they had to have a conference on how to use a new prospect tracking system for ROTC scholarship kids. I told DH I didn’t know they dealt in rocket science.

So I’ve lost my scrapping groove. I haven’t scrapped in about 3 weeks now. I am finally getting around to posting my 2nd CT layout of the month. I do need to find some sort of scrapping mojo to make some 4×6 postcard sized Christmas cards for my son’s class tomorrow. He didn’t want to take any, but when we got his homework folder with the work he missed while sick, there were so many inside he changed his mind. Nothing like the last minute. He’s lucky the only Christmas stuff I have here at home left to do is wrap hubby’s gifts and get the groceries I forgot on Tuesday. I also get the esteemed privilege (not) of picking my son up from school today so he can bring his gingerbread house home. It was very nice of his teacher to save one for him to decorate when he goes back today though. The rest of the class did theirs yesterday, but I’m willing to bet he wasn’t the only 1st grader absent yesterday.

So now that you’ve listened to my ramblings, here’s a couple scrapping related things for you. Don’t forget to head over to Just For The Scrap Of It for today’s Daily Goodie Giveaway. And a layout I did do with Rose McDigital’s Christmas Wishes Collection. It’s still on sale at Scrapper’s Zone. Check out the Post “Layout and a Sale.”

Best of luck getting sleep! It is a commodity in short supply in our house too! I hope your kids will be able to get healthy and the dreaded ear infection doesn’t come for the little one!

Wow, scarlet fever. I can see why they wouldn’t want to use that term – scares the hell out of you. But you have a valid point. Hoping he’s better, sounds like he is if he’s heading back to school. Hope you find your mojo. I seem to have misplaced mine and hating everything I do lately. Enjoy your day!!!

Im sorry you’ve lost your mojo :( and (hugs to you) Both my children had Scarlet Fever and I was told the same thing that they are trying to get away from that terminolgy since many years ago it mean sickness and death. Well call it what it is and educate parents about it instead of brushing it under the carpet. See we all can rant about our Ped’s!

I didn’t realize that is the same thing. When Kat had a rash the other day, my neighbor said to take her in because Strep throat is now appearing as a rash in young kids. I never would have thought! her rash went away in a couple of hours, so I didn’t worry, but wow!

My 1 year old is getting in her molars too, life has been so much fun.

Cute cute layout! Here’s to both of our mojos returning!
