Wordless Wednesday – Appliances Do Fashion

[ 17 ] July 20, 2010 | Amanda

I saw this dress in Target the other day. I didn’t know the Harvest Gold appliances from my childhood now had a clothing line. Target calls it Cruise Gold. I still say it’s Harvest Gold.

Well it compliments my parents old avocado green side by side fridge and the rust/dead tomato red counter tops The Brady’s had.

    Just sayin.

Oh and just sayin again that the 70′s had the worst fashion and decorating ever.

I actually really like harvest gold and tomato red and avocado green and cocoa brown and butternut. Not to wear, exactly, but I do like them in a kitchen.

Done properly, of course, just like anything retro.

I’m going to have to gag at this one. Our entire kitchen growing up used to be in this harvest gold in the 80′s. (Yes the house was built in the 70′s.) I just can’t handle it coming back!

LOL, That’s funny. And I normally like clothes at Target. I think I’ll pass on the gold frocks.

Our 1st refrigerator was harvest gold. it was a huge Kenmore and ran like a top! we sold it when we moved here (like a dummy) because it was to big for the spot) and this house had avocado green(puke) I also had a portable dishwasher I sold, because theirs was built in, it leaked the 1st time we used it… and the stove was clean inside when I checked, but like a dummy I never looked under the burners… the real sad part… we bought them separately from the house! talk about being hosed! The gold I liked.. I do not know if I could wear it, at least an all over color.

My mother made me a pants suit just like that when I was about 7 years old. It had brown pants and a top the color of that top – all made of polyester! I get chills just thinking about it!
